3 gifts of story

3 comments:

  1. Bedtime stories with Gabe. It's one of my favorite times of the day. I love watching his excitement when he is hearing stories like Charlotte's Web and Ralph S. Mouse and hearing him plead for "just one more chapter." It's especially fun when Grant does the reading.

The longer I live, the more I recogonize life is all about stories. Good or bad. Funny or sad. Hard or joyful. I learn a lot when I just listen.

Everyone's story is different. It should be. Thankful for the freedom to be who God made me to be and live my own story.

  2. - reading Narnia with the girls this summer

    - watching tv and I know that doesn't seem like a gift of a story but I love to watch a story and not be involved or invested in it. I like that tv drama's and comedy's are such a break from life and how I relax.

    - The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Dominic's favortie story and he picks it everynight

  3. - I'm with ya'll. I love the idea of stories in life, and how we don't know the end of the story, which is sometimes hard. Through our small group study of Corrie Ten Boom's life and ministry. So many times, her plans didn't go how she thought, and God used her in unexpected ways. Skip was just saying in class how He sees the big picture and how the story will end, and what a stretch of faith that is. I wholeheartedly agree.

There are many books are my 'favorites' because it's hard to pick just one or two. I love it when stories are long series, since I never want them to end. I'm rereading Harry Potter since Abi wants to read them. We're almost done, and I love them all over again. It's so fun to escape and meet up with these characters in my imagination.

I have met several new people lately, and hearing their life stories has been so fun. I love making new friends and hearing what makes them "them". God has brought these ladies and couples unexpectedly into my life, and learning more about them, how He has crossed our paths, and used us to build each other up is really neat.
