1- Dominic's nose kisses 2- chocolate chips, chocolate chip cookies brightened everyone day yesterday 3- packing, I am holding and seeing things close up as I pick up and hold each item in our apartment and put it into a box, again, for the 2nd time in 11 months, looking forward to our new adventure
Up close: 1. Sweet ornament from my dear Swazi friend that reminds me every day to pray for the families of those who serve and the people they've invested their lives in. 2. We love to collect feathers from our chickens and have to pay attention to spot them. They're pretty reminders of the simple joy we derive from animals and nature, gifts from God. 3. My rings which are symbols of the commitment between James and me. I strive to never take for granted this man who God perfectly chose for me.
1. The tiny shells that I picked out of the toasted pecans that go in the icing of the red velvet cake my mom made. Doesn't really sound like a gift but the joy of baking with my mom was.
2. Books. I've been reading a lot more lately and even with my new bifocals, I still have to hold the book fairly close.

1. The grain in and the wear on our 17 year old leather couch. It is still the most comfortable seat in the house. Lots of memories.
ReplyDelete2. The life bringing veins on a leaf.
3. The freckles on my dog's nose.
