a gift wrinkled, smoothed, unfolded

  1. wrinkled- trying to be thankful for the wrinkles I am starting to see on my face as a reminder that I am older and wiser
smoothed- a smoothed out comforter on my bed everyday
unfolded- warm white bath towels, till I fold them at least, that makes me happy too

  2. wrinkled - my grandmother's hands as they held mine when she talked to me during our visits together.

smoothed - brownie mix when it is stirred and put in a dish to bake. Yummy!

unfolded - the woven blanket that we gave my parents for Christmas with a picture of their grandchildren on it. They hang it on the wall in their house as a piece of artwork.

  3. Wrinkled- the skin around my eyes. It sounds cliche, but I wouldn't trade a single one. They tell a story.
(You guys can remind me I said this when I complain about them.)

Folded- the letters from Todd sent over the summers and the year we were apart in college. I am thankful we didn't have email back then.

Smoothed- the homemade guacamole we are having with dinner.

  4. wrinkled - a pic of my grandmother and I holding hands.

smoothed - new clothes. Sounds funny but the fabric has that smooth, soft feel to it and I love it.

unfolded - a letter from Jack's school about him. He's such a smart kid. And so different from Hope. It helped me appreciate that side of him.

  5. Smooth: rocks Elijah tumbled in his new Christmas gift
Wrinkled: Isaac's leg wrinkled from scars of numerous surgeries remind me how far he's come
Unfolded: my favorite blanket that I love to wrap up in each am during quiet time, a special wedding gift
